2. Students can qualify for merit aid
There are more than three-quarter of the world’s colleges that provide students with merit aid. More than eighty percent of small colleges give out merit scholarships to transfer students. And more than 66 percent of medium and large colleges provide merit rewards to transfer students.
3. Top notch senior year grades
If you want to ensure your chances of getting into the sophomore year of college, just be sure that your senior year grades are the best of the best. You also have to ensure that your second semester grades are the crème de la crème as well.
4. Take heed of the deadlines
The one thing that you have to take into account of among other things is the deadlines. You chances of getting in lie in the sophomore fall, sophomore spring and junior fall season. Each college has various deadlines that you have to keep a check of. Be sure to note all of the dates down in your calendar.

5. Understand Articulation Agreements
There are some colleges that do not take in students from two-year programs. This is due to the fact that there are different requirements for transition. It would certainly do you a whole world of good if you took your time in understanding the terms of conditions better.
6. Standardized test scores don’t always work
When it concerns transfer students, SAT scores are not necessarily required. This is because those who do transfer may have already done their SAT tests and have acquired the right scores. Or it is because they are less important for transfers than for high school students.
7. You can find scholarships
Money is just as valuable as education. Fortunately, there are plenty of college and other scholarships that will be delighted to cater to transfer students. Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is an example of a program that provides about $40,000 a year to students that want to make the switch from community to 4-year.
8. Ask what colleges want from transfer students
To make sure that you stay on the right side of the colleges, you have to adhere to the certain specifications that they ask of you. You may find whatever there is to know from the school’s official website. You can especially get a good idea by checking out the school’s Common Data Set.
9. Be sure that your credits transfer
When you consider transferring, all the efforts and achievements that you had in your last school must not go to waste. You have to check if your credits can move from the community to an actual bachelor’s program.
